In 2007, Kanawha County passed table gaming and Hartman & Tyner quickly added the new amenity to the property operations. The property flourished as the premiere gaming location in the Charleston area. In 2002, the property received a 57,000 square-foot addition and gaming facilities and was renamed Tri-State Racing & Gaming Center. In 1990, the facility was purchased by Hartman & Tyner a Florida-based gaming organization.
Mardi Gras Casino and Resort was opened in 1985, as Tri-State Greyhound Park and focused mainly on greyhound racing. In total, Mardi Gras Casino & Resort is fully equipped with a 150-room hotel, 900 slot machines, more than 20 table games, a live music lounge, state-of-the-art sportsbook, meeting and banquet services, casual and fine dining restaurants, indoor heated pool and fitness facilities and a gift shop.
The Mardi Gras property was acquired by Delaware North in February 2018, and is a premier gaming and entertainment destination in the region. Mardi Gras Casino & Resort has been a positive force in the Charleston, West Virginia area for many years.
