Rodgers, who is widely considered one of the best arm-talents of all-time, brought the Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay in 2011. Luckily for Packers fans, the gloom of Favre’s departure was quickly forgotten when Aaron Rodgers immediately took over quarterbacking duties. Holmgren’s success, which included two Super Bowl appearances and one victory, was largely predicated on the arrival of Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.įavre, one of the most electrifying players in NFL history, had the Packers constantly competing in the NFC. Curly Lambeau, for whom the Packers’ field is named after, coached the team for nearly three decades and captured six NFL championships. Green Bay’s history dates all the way back to 1921.
